After replacing Mallika Sherawat as the judge of the reality dance show Chak Dhoom Dhoom, Urmila Matondkar is gradually slipping into the role she has to play. Considering that she’s already judged Jhalak Dikhla Ja in the past, the actress is not the least nervous about shouldering the responsibility one more time.

But looks like this judge won’t be easy to please. Ask her what she looks for in a contestant and she replies, “There are many things I like to see in a good dancer, such as technique, footwork, balance, etc. But the best dance is the one that comes straight from the heart.”

Urmila also clears her stance on the long drawn debate of technique versus emotion. “There can be no dance without emotions, but then dancing can’t be devoid of technique either,” she says. But the key lies in balancing the two, as she says, “For instance, Sachin is pure technique when he bats but he does so in a way that looks magical,” she says.

Ranveer Singh may have had a low profile debut, but the boy is certainly making up for it by bagging some high profile projects.

His instant connection with the audiences in Band Baaja Baarat has been mirrored by the connections he is forging with leading filmmakers, and the word in the industry is that Ranveer will star in the next Yash Raj film, Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming project and also a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

A source close to the actor said, “Everyone was surprised by the way Ranveer’s debut worked out. A lot of filmmakers are now queuing up to work with the livewire actor. Sanjay Leela Bhansali especially, was very impressed with Ranveer’s work. They have already had a meeting and if all goes well, Ranveer will be seen in the director’s next.”

If only we had as much clarity on what’s brewing between Ranveer and his co-star Anushka Sharma. Sigh.

London, October 27 (ANI): U2 has for the first time let YouTube stream a full live show for free.

The Irish rock band”s fans were permitted to watch their performance at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California on the web, as the band wanted to spread their magic beyond the stadium.

“The band has wanted to do something like this for a long time,” the Telegraph quoted U2 manager Paul McGuinness as saying.

He added: “As we”re filming the Los Angeles show, it”s the perfect opportunity to extend the party beyond the stadium. Fans often travel long distances to come to see U2 – this time U2 can go to them, globally.”

Also, frontman of the group and philanthropist Bono said: “Thank you Los Angeles. Thanks to everyone watching on YouTube all over the world – seven continents.”

YouTube”s music manager, Michele Flannery, also expressed his joy at the band’s open heartedness.

He said: “YouTube is thrilled to be able to provide our global audience with a live streaming performance from one of the world”s greatest bands.

“We are always looking for new ways to connect fans around the world with their favourite artists, and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”

The show was on hand for live viewer ship in 16 countries including Australia, Brazil, Britain, Ireland, Israel, South Korea and the United States.

MJ was dead before medical aid arrived

Pop icon Michael Jackson was clinically dead long before medical help turned up at his LA home, a report said on Sunday.

Paramedic chiefs and staff at UCLA hospital have revealed to the ‘News of the World’ details of the report which was overseen by three specialist paramedics.

The report made on a comprehensive official form, makes clear the ‘King of Pop’ had already got no pulse, there was no sign of heart activity and had stopped breathing.

But, the star’s body showed clear signs of lividity – a condition when the blood drains to the bottom of the body after the heart stops. Dead body takes at least three hours to show signs of lividity, a doctor at the ‘News of the World’ said.

The report is contrary to the claim of Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray who said the singer had a faint pulse at the house and so would have benefited from CPR on the way to the hospital.

Dr Steven Hoeffin, a close friend of Jackson confirmed the findings of the report and said that the chief in the fire department told him that Jackson was dead when they arrived.

“He had no pulse and was not breathing. They gave him an electro-cardiogram but he was flatlined,” the ‘News of the World’ quoted Hoeffin as saying.

“They say he even had lividity, which meant the blood had sunk to the back, indicating his heart had stopped a couple of hours earlier,” Hoeffin said. “This is the most important aspect of the report as it means he must have been dead for over an hour, probably longer,” he added.

Hollywood urged to introduce ‘Best Bollywood Film’ category at Oscars

Hindus have asked the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to introduce a new award category of “Best Bollywood Film” for films made in India.
Rajan Zed, a leader of the Indian American community here, said in a statement that India had the largest film industry in the world and thus it deserved at least one category in Oscars where its movies could compete among themselves. This gesture would bring more credibility to Oscars also in the international arena, as it was long overdue.
He further said that cinema in India, based in Mumbai and various regional centers, reportedly produced much more films and drew much larger audience globally than Hollywood (which released only 610 movies in 2008).
It was, therefore, unfair for such an influential cinema not to have its own category at Oscars. Foreign Language Film Award at Oscars, where only one picture was accepted from each country, did not do justice to such a large industry, Zed added.
The Academy, launched in 1927 and dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of motion pictures, has over 6,000 artists and professionals as honorary members, including actors such as Jack Nicholson, directors like Steven Spielberg, executives like Steve Jobs, musicians like Elton John and writers like Ruth Prawer Jhabvala among others.
Located in Beverly Hills in California, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will host the 82nd Academy Awards on March 7, 2010.

The buzz is that Kangana Ranaut has stripped completely in her upcoming horror flick ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’.

Well, this girl sure has played her cards right. She very well knows what the audience wants from her. The movie is now under the Censor scanner for a nude scene that has been filmed on her.

The scene shows Kangana in a bathtub. According to reports, Kangana had shot the scene with a skin coloured body suit. But then the audiences would still think that Kangana has bared it all for the scene.

It may now be completely chopped off. Producer Mukesh Bhatt wants a U/A certificate but the Board is not complying.

Apparently after the screening of the film for the Censor Board, there was an argument between some members and Mukesh Bhatt regarding the certification as the producer wanted the ‘U/A’ certificate to have a large audience base for the flick.

The Censor Board on its part has confirmed that they have asked Vishesh Films to chop Kangana’s nude scene. The movie would get an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate because of its spooky content as confirmed by a Board official.

The film starring Emraan Hashmi and Adhyayan is set for release on January 23 but Mukesh Bhatt hasn’t given up yet. Let’s wait and watch to find out the fate of the movie and Kangana’s striptease.
