George Michael arrested after surviving car crash
George Michael was arrested in the wee hours on Friday, after he ploughed his Range Rover into
the back of a lorry on a dual carriageway.
The “Faith” hitmaker’s car was dragged for 100 yards after it got jammed in the lorry’s rear axle. While the 46-year-old singer was unhurt, George Campbell, boss of the firm that owns the truck, said the star could have been injured or even killed.
“George has been very, very lucky. We are amazed that he walked away,” the Mirror quoted Campbell as saying.
The accident happened at 1am at Chieveley in Berks, after which George was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drink or drugs. He was released without charge when tests proved negative.
The incident occurred just three months after George regained his licence, following a two-year ban for being on drugs behind the wheel. He was not available for comment on the issue.
